My name is
Scott O'Banion and my wife, Josie, and I own SJS Jewelry House, located in Sparks, Nevada and the Jewelry and Gift House in Winnemucca, Nevada. I have been a jeweler
and gemologist for twenty-eight years, and I specialize in custom-made gold and diamond jewelry. I am
also now doing custom-made gold magnetic golf ball markers, some with diamonds. Josie has been in retail sales and in the jewelry business for over 20 years.
Josie and I opened our first store, SJS Jewelry House, in 1994. Our regular and loyal customers, in addition to all off their referrals, allowed us the opportunity to grow and open our second store, Jewelry and Gift House, in October of 2009. Our daughter, Tish, came to work for us at our Sparks store in August, 2009, and is learning all aspects of the business. She has made over 50 rings and pendants and is increasingly doing repair work. Our son, Paul is also learning jewelry repair and helps out in the Winnemucca store when he is not working in the gold mines.
Josie and I try to play golf once a week, and while we are not great golfers,
we do enjoy the game. That is how we came up with the idea of the magnetic golf ball markers. We take great pride in the fact that our markers are made right here in the USA. You can see stamped in the back of each marker "MADE IN
AMERICA". While we could have these
produced somewhere overseas for less money, we prefer to keep the jobs and the money in the
